At Shoppe On Main, we pride ourselves with the quality and distinctiveness of our artists.
We invite you to see internationally-known Eastern Frontier Artist, Geoffrey Harding. Harding works in oils, acrylics and pencil, bringing to life the 18th century American culture. Shoppe On Main offers originals as well as Giclee on Canvas prints of this artist. Visit his website to view more of Geoff's work.
Richard Anderson, wood carver extraordinaire, brings nature to life through his attention to detail and impeccable craftsmanship. Anderson's work is a study of life, with no element left unnoticed. Each piece brings a calming influence to the observer.
Sue Liddell has joined our family of artists with her beautifully drawn birds, flowers and landscapes. What sets Sue apart is the medium she uses: prisma color wax based pencils. Each original piece depicts the true colors nature has bestowed on her subjects. Since Sue has a variety of sizes of work, both framed and unframed, you can group together your own wall display from what we offer here at Shoppe On Main.
Paul Thomas, from Lewiston has complemented our other water color artists by bringing in "man-art"! Examples of Paul's subjects are: an antique truck hidden in a hedge row; a farmer's vegetable stand; or a sunset seascape. Come in and see Paul's original work!
Nori Bucci is one of our newest artists. Recommended by a fellow artist who saw her work at the Lewiston Art Festival, Nori has brought in my favorite subject: horses. Done in graphite, her portraits of these magnificent animals shows the motion, movement and grace of the horse. Nori is also an accomplished musician. Watch for her upcoming events at the shop where she will present her newest drawings as well as provide the music for the evening. Nori will do commissioned horse and other pet drawings, upon request.
Wood working artisans, Joe Stuart and Jim Stuart are now supplying Shoppe On Main, with beautifully-crafted, wood: boxes in different sizes and wood with dove-tailed joints, hinged lids and hand rubbed finishes; bowls, in walnut, cherry, maple and plum are hand-turned and finished; hand-crafted clocks are perfect for any end table or mantle; shadow boxes ready for you to fill with your own treasures, are designed to hang on a wall or set on a shelf. Years of experience give these gentlemen the ability to create the perfect wood art for our shop. Each piece is an heirloom to be handed down to future generations. Make sure you stop down to see Joe's latest creation: a full-sized, wood rocking horse. Visit my Facebook page for a photograph.
Music boxes are sometimes thought of as something in our grandmother's past. Now Shoppe On Main has the privilege of introducing master craftsman, Chris Weber, who brings in his hand crafted music creations. Each box is meticulously made of a hard wood, finished on the outside with wood inlay or carved adornments. Open up the box and listen to the music of long ago. These make beautiful, keepsake gifts.
I love that I get to present my own son-in-law, Ryan Keys, to my shoppe customers. Ryan loves to work with wood of any kind and has chosen to bring in his multi-wood, cutting boards. Made to look like mosaic pieces of art, each board is finished with mineral oil and food ready. Pair with some tea, jam or chocolate for that extra special gift!
